Last August, Priya Sinha embarked on a new journey in the media by joining the Hindi news channel ‘Bharat24’ under the leadership of senior TV journalist Jagdish Chandra. In a conversation with media, Priya Sinha mentioned that she joined the channel as an anchor.


Prior to ‘Bharat Express,’ Priya Sinha had been working with ‘Zee Media’ for about two years. There, she served as an anchor, handling responsibilities in ‘Zee’ Madhya Pradesh/Chhattisgarh.

Founded in 2022, Little Llama emerges as a Chandigarh-based startup specializing in eco-friendly fabric toys. The brainchild of Dr. Shweta Gupta, an MBBS degree holder and former diabetologist at Medanta hospital, her journey into the world of sustainable toys began as she sought unique dolls for her niece.

Frustrated by the prevalence of plastic and synthetic options in the Indian market and the prohibitive costs of imported alternatives, Dr. Shweta took matters into her own hands. Inspired by her vision, she crafted a distinctive, handcrafted doll using biodegradable materials like wool and linen fabric.

Buoyed by the positive response, Dr. Shweta, with support from her husband, founded Little Llama in 2022. Today, she personally handcrafts eco-friendly fabric toys for children aged 0-12, prioritizing health and sustainability. Opting for colorful wool instead of plastic and chemical paints ensures the safety of children who tend to explore objects with their mouths.

Despite the challenges akin to her medical degree journey, Dr. Shweta successfully built Little Llama into a recognized brand, drawing attention from celebrities like Sonam Kapoor, Soha Ali Khan, and Neha Dhupia. Aparshakti Khurana, Gauhar Khan, and Nakuul Mehta have also endorsed the brand on Instagram.

Since its inception, Little Llama, as reported by The Better India, has fulfilled over 300 orders, generating a revenue of Rs 15 lakhs. Their handcrafted dolls, ‘Jungle Animals,’ birthday buntings, and other fabric toys stand out for meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to eco-friendly materials.

7. Anusha Chandrashekar

Meet Anusha Chandrashekar, the visionary behind Berrylush, a Noida-based direct-to-consumer (D2C) fast fashion brand specializing in western wear, founded in 2018.

Anusha, the co-founder and CEO, boasts an IIM degree and an engineering background. On the other hand, Alok, his husband the co-founder and COO, is also an IIM graduate with a foundation in IT engineering. Despite lacking prior experience in the apparel and textile industry, they embarked on their journey, establishing an in-house manufacturing unit with just four machines and five employees in July 2018.

In their humble beginnings, the production was a modest 900 units in the first month. Fast forward to today, Berrylush produces a staggering two lakh units monthly, unveiling approximately 150 styles each month. The startup, rooted in Noida, reported an impressive revenue of Rs 61.89 Cr in FY23 and aims for Rs 80 Cr in FY24, consistently maintaining profitability since its inception.

In a recent funding round, Berrylush secured Rs 8 Cr from Klub, reaching a valuation of around Rs 240 Cr. The startup is a proud participant in the Myntra brand accelerator program, aligning itself with the house of brands under Myntra’s umbrella.

Available on various platforms including its own website and app, Myntra, Nykaa, Amazon, Ajio, and Flipkart, Berrylush has expanded into physical retail with six offline stores and ambitious plans to open 30 more across major metro cities in India within the next two years.

Their app, boasting over 2 lakh downloads, reflects a remarkable consumer retention rate of 28%, setting an industry record. With an average product review rating of 4.3 stars, Berrylush seamlessly blends fashion and technology. The company has invested significantly in integrating technology, implementing its own enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to enhance efficiency and streamline various aspects of its operations.

8. Mansi Jain

Established in 2020, DigitalPaani stands as a pioneering water management startup nestled in Gurgaon, distinguished by its recognition from Niti Aayog.

The brainchild of a dynamic father-daughter duo, Mansi Jain and Rajesh Jain, DigitalPaani was conceived to revolutionize water management and ensure a consistent supply of fresh water. Mansi, a Stanford University alumna and former research analyst at IDinsight, collaborates with Rajesh Jain, who brings extensive experience as the managing director in the water management sector in Delhi.

In partnership with experts from IIT Delhi, DigitalPaani has developed an IoT-enabled platform, designed to optimize plant operations, enhance wastewater treatment, minimize downtime, and promote water reuse. This cutting-edge platform has yielded impressive results, showcasing a remarkable 30% surge in treatment capacity and substantial cost savings of 66% at commercial sites.

Functioning as a vigilant overseer, DigitalPaani’s innovative platform continuously monitors infrastructure performance, identifies issues, and provides remedial guidance. It operates as a crucial ally for water systems, diagnosing conditions and prescribing necessary adjustments, equipment settings, process modifications, and operator instructions to ensure efficient remediation.

The startup has garnered esteemed clients, including Tata Power, Delhi Jal Board, Britannia, and Leela Hotels, attesting to its efficacy in the industry. Looking ahead, DigitalPaani plans to accelerate its growth in key urban centers such as the National Capital Region of Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, and Hyderabad over the next twelve months.

According to Entrackr, DigitalPaani has secured $1.2 million (Approximately Rs 10 Cr) in its seed round, underscoring a promising trajectory for this innovative player in the field of water management.

9. Divya Manjari

Launched in October 2022 by Divya Manjari, Redfynd emerges as a game-changer in the Indian e-commerce landscape, utilizing AI to redefine the online shopping experience.

With a robust background, Divya, an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur and Indian School of Business (ISB), brings over two decades of experience in technology and retail/e-commerce. Her impressive career includes pivotal roles at renowned retailers such as Gap, Nordstrom, Sears, and Unilever, where she played a key role in developing and launching retail and e-commerce applications.

Juggling a demanding career and the responsibilities of raising two children, Divya encountered the challenges of efficiently managing her family’s shopping needs. This experience became the catalyst for Redfynd, as she identified the time-consuming and frustrating process of comparing products across various e-commerce platforms before making a purchase decision.

In response to this challenge, Divya conceptualized and created Redfynd, a comprehensive platform that empowers consumers to seamlessly discover and purchase from a diverse array of online stores, all within a unified interface.

Redfynd employs the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to streamline consumers’ online shopping journeys. Leveraging computer vision and language models, the platform can identify the same product across different stores. Innovative features like image search and the ability to search products using links from online stores enhance the user experience.

From its humble beginnings as an idea, Redfynd has evolved into a platform boasting six million products, 30,000 brands, and partnerships with over 100 stores offering a wide range of fashion and beauty products.

As the product and brand portfolio on Redfynd expanded, so did its user base. Starting with just 100–200 daily visitors, the platform now attracts 2 lakh visitors per month and continues to grow.

Looking ahead, Divya envisions expanding Redfynd’s coverage of online stores, geographical expansion into the US and Europe, and the development of a global checkout system. Redfynd, under Divya’s leadership, is poised to make significant strides in transforming the e-commerce landscape, offering consumers a more efficient and enjoyable shopping experience.

10. Nikita Barmecha

Established in 2017, EcoRight stands out as a pioneering sustainable lifestyle brand that specializes in offering an array of eco-friendly products, including sling bags, handbags, tote bags, and grocery bags.

The founders, Nikita Barmecha and Udit Sood, who brought their expertise from Bharti Airtel and Zomato, respectively, envisioned EcoRight as a platform dedicated to developing mindful and environmentally conscious products. The brand focuses on utilizing sustainable materials, such as organic cotton, recycled cotton, recycled plastic bottles, juton (a blend of jute and cotton), and bamboo.

While venturing into the market, EcoRight faced the dual challenge of educating consumers about sustainability while simultaneously establishing an ethical and sustainable supply chain. Currently, EcoRight operates as an online-first direct-to-consumer (D2C) brand, serving customers in over 50 countries worldwide.

The brand stands among global pioneers, offering certified organic and recycled bags. With an extensive product range exceeding 350 items, spanning lifestyle bags, tote bags, phone cases, and more, EcoRight caters to a diverse consumer base exceeding 500,000 individuals across 60 countries.

Recognized for their impactful contributions, EcoRight has received prestigious awards, including ‘The Most Promising Sustainability Focused Brand’ at Amazon Smbhav and ‘Challenger Brands of India’ by Yourstory. Their participation in the Amazon Global Propel Accelerator program further solidifies their position in the industry.
